Senior Pastor
Pastor Chad grew up in Nashville, Georgia, and in 1992 he married the love of his life, Nira. Together they have been blessed with two wonderful children, Zach and Emily, one cherished grandchild, and three very loved (and very spoiled) dogs.
When they’re not busy with ministry, Chad and Nira enjoy spending time together, taking cruises, and hunting for great finds at thrift stores. They treasure making memories as a family and sharing life’s simple joys.
Pastor Chad began serving the incredible people of Cartecay Baptist Church in 2018. He has a deep love for the church and a genuine heart for people. He is passionate about preaching God’s Word in a clear and practical way, investing in discipleship, and helping the church grow both spiritually and in its impact on the community. Known for his humor and storytelling, he can often be heard saying, “Just one more story!”—usually followed by laughter from the congregation.

Kathy ATkins
Secretary
Kathy is originally from Orange Park, Florida and moved to Ellijay in 2015. She became a member at Cartecay Baptist in 2018 and secretary to Pastor Chad in 2021. She lives with her sister and little pup Nugget. She enjoys travelling, going to thrift stores and is always ready to go out to eat with family and friends.

Nira Hall
Ladies Ministry, Missions
Nira Hall serves as both the Ladies Ministry Coordinator and the Missions Coordinator at our church. With a heart for people and a passion for seeing lives transformed by the Gospel, Nira brings encouragement, organization, and joyful energy to everything she does.
In her role with Ladies Ministry, Nira loves creating spaces where women can grow in their faith, build meaningful friendships, and support one another through every season of life. As Missions Coordinator, she is deeply committed to sharing Christ’s love beyond the church walls—helping our congregation stay connected to and engaged in the work God is doing locally and around the world.
Nira also enjoys serving in the choir, where she worships through music and helps lead the congregation in praise each week.

Nick Bryant
Chairman of Deacons, Finance Committee, Audio Visual
Nick has been a faithful member of Cartecay Baptist Church for 16 years and currently serves in the role of deacon. He is committed to supporting the pastor, caring for the church family and serving with humility and integrity. He and his wife, Caroline, have been married for 23 years and are blessed with two kids, Carson and Cate.
Zach Hall
Vice Chairman of Deacons, Audio Visual, Social Media, Men's Ministry
Zach Hall serves at Cartecay Baptist Church as a Deacon and is an active member of both the Audio/Visual Team and the Social Media Team. He is passionate about using technology and media to help support worship services and share the message of the church with the community and beyond. Whether assisting behind the scenes with sound and video or helping manage the church’s online presence, Zach is dedicated to serving faithfully and helping others stay connected to what God is doing through Cartecay Baptist Church.
Outside of church, Zach enjoys all things sports. He is a big fan of the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves and enjoys following their seasons whenever he can. Whether watching games, keeping up with sports news, or talking sports with friends and family, Zach appreciates the excitement and community that sports bring.

Building and Grounds
John Rapson faithfully serves at Cartecay Baptist Church overseeing Building and Grounds. He takes great pride in caring for the church facilities and property, helping ensure that everything is well maintained and ready for worship, ministry, and fellowship. John enjoys volunteering his time and talents to serve the church and is always willing to lend a helping hand wherever it’s needed. His dedication behind the scenes helps keep the church running smoothly and creates a welcoming environment for everyone who walks through the doors.
John enjoys volunteering and staying active with projects that allow him to serve others. He takes satisfaction in working with his hands and contributing to efforts that make a positive difference in his church and community.
